The Symptoms of Pertussis(Whooping Cough)

Nasal Congestion

Nasal congestion is closely related to a runny nose. It’s a medical condition that is also called a stuffy nose, and it usually depicts a symptom of another illness. Common causes of nasal congestion include mucus buildup, swollen nasal tissue, stuffy nose, and sinus pain.

When nasal congestion persists beyond a week, it could be linked to chemical exposures, environmental irritants, hay fever, allergies, noncancerous growths, and a deviated septum. In some cases, pregnant women could also experience nasal congestion during the end of the first trimester.

There are several home remedies for nasal congestion. Examples include the use of humidifiers to add moisture to the air and saline sprays. Note that saline sprays are good for babies when an aspirator or nasal bulb is used afterward.
