Most Common Symptoms of Plaque Psoriasis

Soreness Around the Patches

The area around your plaques may feel sore [8]. This does not happen all the time. Some people may only feel the soreness when something makes contact with the skin. If you have plaque psoriasis on several parts of your body, the soreness can make sleeping or lying down uncomfortable. If the soreness is severe, even wearing clothes can be painful.

Itching and Burning Sensation

The patches of skin affected by psoriasis may cause uncomfortable symptoms. The area around the skin may start to itch [9] or you may feel a burning sensation [10]. The severity of the itch varies from person to person.

If the psoriasis itch is severe, you may scratch your skin regularly to reduce the sensation. The problem with this is that intense scratching may cause injury to the skin. Germs and other harmful bacteria may enter the body through this injury.
