Sarcoidosis: Diagnosis and Treatment

Who Is Likely to Have Sarcoidosis?

Although sarcoidosis can happen to anyone, Black people are more likely to get it than White. Additionally, it has a somewhat greater impact on people who were assigned female at birth (AFAB) than male at birth (AMAB). Between the ages of 25 and 40, the majority of cases are diagnosed.

Although sarcoidosis cannot be transferred genetically, having a first-degree biological relative, a parent, child, or sibling who has the disease increases your chance of getting it.

How common is sarcoidosis? It is considered as an uncommon illness. In the United States, there are typically less than 200,000 cases of sarcoidosis at any given time.
