Enlarged Turbinate
Conchae, also known as turbinates, are located inside the nose and assist in moistening, filtering, and warming the air you breathe before it travels throughout your body. These structures typically alter in size and shape in response to changes in temperature and weather, as well as when they come into touch with mild air irritants. People with allergies or those who are sensitive to dust, pollen, pet dander, or other airborne microbes or diseases are more likely to develop enlarged turbinates.
Pain in the head and the region around the eyes, nose, and jaw is brought on by the swelling, which reduces the size of the airways and nostrils and increases pressure inside the sinus cavities. If left untreated, enlarged turbinates can cause migraines [3], rhinitis [4], dry mouth, nosebleeds, changes in taste and smell, and snoring.
