How does Acupuncture work

Despite the fact that it’s occasionally seen as an “alternative” treatment in the United States, acupuncture is a 3,000-year-old technique in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) [8], says Jessica Sowards, MS, LAc.
According to her, “Chinese medicine views the mind, body, and spirit as one interrelated system and seeks to identify the primary cause of illness or imbalance and treat it.”
Needles are inserted during acupuncture treatments into specific body points along meridians. According to Sowards, meridians in Chinese medicine are the body’s pathways through which “Qi,” or life energy, flows.
Conclusion
Acupuncture is a type of TCM that includes placing needles into certain body sites that line up with energy pathways known as meridians.
Although there is some scientific evidence that acupuncture can help with sleep issues like insomnia, it is not very strong. Nevertheless, some medical professionals suggest acupuncture as a secure substitute for drugs.
