Symptoms of Sleep Deprivation

Drowsiness

Drowsiness or sleepiness is the most common symptom of sleep deprivation. If you don’t get enough sleep at night, you may spend most of the day fighting the urge to sleep. Drowsiness may be accompanied by fatigue or yawning.

Poor concentration and attention span

Sleep deprivation impairs cognitive function and the ability to focus clearly. Not getting enough sleep can make you less alert and unable to concentrate [4] or pay attention to something. You may find yourself experiencing random memory blocks and struggling to catch up during an activity that requires focus. This can lead you to make poor judgments.
