Drug Therapy
With catarrhal laryngitis, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial sprays are prescribed. If after 5 days such treatment has not brought an effect, or from the onset of the disease with purulent forms, antibiotics are prescribed for oral administration. First of all, this is amoxicillin + clavulanic acid, macrolides (erythromycin, azithromycin) or fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin) can also be used.
Antibiotic therapy [4] can be combined with laryngeal irrigation with a solution of hydrocortisone emulsion, antibiotic, and peach oil.
In the allergic form, antihistamines of different generations are prescribed (tavegil, suprastin, loratadine), if necessary, supplementing the treatment with a short course of glucocorticoids.
With mycotic laryngitis, the appointment of antifungal agents is required, with specific options – anti-tuberculosis, anti-syphilitic treatment.
At the same time, pathogenetic agents are used – mucolytics, vitamins, absorbable, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs.
In case of purulent variants, detoxification therapy is prescribed with the help of intravenous administration of saline solutions, antibiotics, and intravenous administration of nutrient mixtures.
In chronic edematous-polypous laryngitis, it is possible to inject glucocorticoids directly into the vocal folds during micro laryngoscopy.
