Stomach Flu (Gastroenteritis)
Stomach flu, also called Gastroenteritis, is an infection [11] transmitted by contact with an infected person or through food. Symptoms include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, which may last for several days. It is usually caused by bacteria like (E.Coli and Salmonella) or viruses (like adenovirus, rotavirus, astrovirus and norovirus). These toxic organisms irritate the gastrointestinal tract, which triggers inflammation, and may induce nausea or vomiting.
Conclusion
Nausea is a feeling of discomfort in the gastrointestinal organs triggered by minor or major conditions. The minor causes include over-eating, food poisoning, and motion sickness while, major triggers are GERD, peptic ulcers, stomach flu, or as a side effect to medication.
