Worst Food to Consume for Stomach Ulcer

There are several acidic foods that can exacerbate the condition of people with peptic ulcers. [9] Since some popular foods can aggravate the complications of stomach ulcers during the process of healing, recognizing them so as to avoid them is important.
The main food items that can make stomach ulcers worse are the following ones: alcoholic beverages, coffee and other caffeinated drinks (black tea, mate tea), soft drinks, strong sauces, as well as spices such as vinegar, tomato paste, pepper, ketchup, paprika, curry, nutmeg, mustard, etc. Carbonated and alcoholic drinks should be avoided as much as possible. [10]
Other foods, such as concentrated sweets, acids (lemon, orange, pineapple, passion fruit), fried foods and fatty foods in general, sausages (sausage, sausage, bologna, ham, hamburger), and canned foods can be very detrimental to the health of the gastric lining. [11] The effect of sausages is associated with the amount of dyes and preservatives that these foods contain, causing irritation of the stomach wall. The habit of drinking liquids at main meals should also be discouraged and water should be taken long after the meal has been taken.
Each food has a different mechanism to compromise the stomach, the main ones mentioned above cause the increase in the production of gastric acid, the decrease in the production of mucus – which helps to protect the most superficial layer of the stomach – and the change in the stomach emptying time. The combination of these three factors often lead to the aggravation of pain felt in ulcer patients when they consume these foods.
