Chest Pain, Nausea/Vomiting

Some people may not experience a burning sensation during acid reflux, it may bring a feeling of discomfort or pain in the chest. It is usually a sharp pain that feels too close to the surface of the skin. It lasts between a few minutes up to a few hours before it improves. Like heartburns, the pain may reoccur when you take a lying position.
When your digestive juices flow back up into your throat, they may leave a sour taste in your mouth. It can cause hiccups, frequent belching, and coughing. In some GERD patients, the backflow causes serious irritation that makes them feel nauseous or may end up vomiting. This symptom is common during a severe acid reflux attack and is best controlled with breathing exercises or antiemetics.
