3 Common Symptoms of Tendonitis

Stiffness

Inflamed tendons can cause the affected joints to become stiff. This can make moving the joints difficult and impair a person’s range of motion. Tendonitis that affects the shoulder may cause loss of motion in the shoulder [8]. This state of being unable to move the affected shoulder is known as adhesive capsulitis. Many people call this a frozen shoulder.

Stiffness and difficulty moving are more pronounced when the injury to the tendon is severe enough to leave a gap or rupture.

Tendonitis symptoms often depend on the level of injury to the tendons. Severe injuries can lead to tear or rupture of the tendons if left untreated. Mild cases can be treated at home, but you should see a doctor if the symptoms do not improve or get worse.
