Swelling or Lump, Grating or Crackling Noise
Tendonitis is an inflammation (swelling) of the tendons. In some cases, this swelling is visible externally. You may experience mild swelling [5] around the affected tendons when you have tendonitis. The swelling may be accompanied by redness or heat.
Although this is less common, a lump may also develop [6] along the affected tendon.
If you have tendonitis, you may feel a grating or crackling sensation [7] in your tendons when you move your limbs. The feeling may remain throughout your tendonitis, which means it may last for only a few days or persist for a few weeks or months.
