Exercises for Tennis Elbow

Now, let us examine nine exercises [6] that can help relieve tennis elbow:

Fist Clench

One of the common symptoms of this condition is poor grip strength. Patients often complain about weak hands that make it difficult to open bottle caps or turn doorknobs. The first clench exercise is effective to improve grip strength. It engages the muscles of your forearm and strengthens them to perform daily activities with ease. The good thing is that you do not need any special equipment to carry out a fist clench. All you need is a table to place your arms and a towel to squeeze.

This exercise focuses on the long flexor tendons of the fingers and thumb.

Steps:

  • Place the affected arm on the table.
  • Roll up a towel and hold it in between the palm of your hand Squeeze the towel in your hand and hold for 10 seconds before releasing grip.
  • Repeat this process ten times on the affected hand or hands.
