Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) [3] is when your water breaks while your pregnancy is not up to 37 weeks; this could be a severe issue.
PPROM occurs in about 3 percent of pregnancies in the US, and about 30 percent of preterm births result from PPROM.
