Breast Soreness and Tenderness

Sore breasts [15] can be indicative of several health conditions. Mastalgia (the medical term for sore breasts) can be a sign that your period is about to start. It could also be a sign of pregnancy. Sore breasts may or may not correspond with your periods. During the transition to menopause, you may develop sore breasts. This doesn’t look the same for everyone, but it usually feels different from soreness due to menstruation. Soreness during perimenopause may feel like a burning sensation. It may also feel sharp or like a throb. This can affect only one or both breasts. Some parts of your breasts may feel more tender during this period.
