Soak in a Tub

Studies have shown that surrounding your back, pelvic, and abdominal muscles with warmth is a great way to relieve period cramps. You can increase the warmth around these muscles by soaking yourself in a hot bath. You can boost the pain-relieving power of a good soak by adding some drops of essential oils, such as rose, sage, or lavender mixed with a carrier oil to your bath water. You can also add Epsom salt to your bath water to reduce muscle pain. Relaxing in a hot bath for at least 15 minutes is the best way to increase the warmth around your muscles.
