Baby Heat Rash: Types, Duration, Treatment & More

Treatment

As soon as you cool your kid off, heat rash typically starts to go away on its own. There are various at-home remedies to begin the rash’s recovery:

Cool the skin

By taking off extra layers of clothes or moving to a chilled interior area, you can cool the skin. If your baby has been exposed to the heat and humidity outside, take off any wet clothing and use a fan to help dry their skin.

Apply steroid cream

If the rash itches, it’s crucial to prevent kids from scratching. Infected skin can result from broken blisters.

Use some over-the-counter (OTC) 1 percent hydrocortisone [3] lotion to the rashy region if it seems to be bothering your kid.

Discuss the use of steroids with your child’s doctor in advance because they may have negative effects.

Steer clear of hydrocortisone creams that contain mineral or petroleum oil. They may clog pores and prevent sweat from evaporating on its own.
