Benefits of Fasted Cardio

Fasted cardio is mainly targeted at helping the body burn calories faster. This is because when you wake up in the morning and haven’t eaten anything, the body is low on glucose which is it main source of energy, therefore the body turns to the stored fat instead thereby consuming the fat in the body.
However, there is still debate on the effectiveness of this concept.
Research discovered that fasted cardio exercise resulted in a higher metabolic performance at the end of the workout. However, another research also said that eating before a prolonged aerobic activity or workout will enhance one’s performance.
Although more research needs to be done to bring about a fact on the matter, there are still some benefits of fasted cardio, they include:
- You won’t need to prepare, eat, and wait to digest a meal before you exercise, especially if there isn’t enough time.
- Fasted cardio is recommended for people who practice intermittent fasting, since you’ll be able to exercise before you break your fast.
- If you observe that exercising while you haven’t eaten best works for you, then you should try out fasted cardio. It is also a good option if you have a sensitive stomach or feel more energetic when you haven’t eaten as you’ll be able to perfoy stronger in your workout.
