When Should You Visit a Doctor after Removing a Tick?

In most cases, you still have to visit your healthcare professional after removing a tick. You should contact your doctor if:

Symptoms such as muscle stiffness [6], fever, or joint pain [7]develop in the days after a tick bite
A tick has been on a person for more than 24 hours
A rash develops on your body after the tick bite
The tick bite appears infected, oozing green or white discharge, or feels warm to the touch

According to the CDC, the symptoms of Lyme disease may appear after 3 to 30 days after a tick bite. In most cases, it usually takes 7 days for the symptoms to appear.
