Vitamins B

Some B vitamins are useful in reducing blood pressure levels. For instance, vitamin B2 (riboflavin) [3] supplements have are known to reduce blood pressure in adults with methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene mutations, which increases the chances of having high blood pressure.

Folic acid [4] and folate supplements (vitamin B9) are also used to reduce blood pressure in people with heart disease. Also, increase in the consumption of folate in young adulthood may protect against this condition later in life.

Experts have proven that vitamin B6 [5] supplements can reduce blood pressure in animals. However, it does not apply to human beings.
