9 Symptoms of Hypoglycemia(Low Blood Sugar)

Restless at Night

Hypoglycemia can occur at night and interfere with sleep. This condition, called nocturnal hypoglycemia [11], happens when the blood glucose level drops below 70 mg/dL while a person is asleep. It accounts for around half of all episodes of hypoglycemia and more than half severe episodes.

If you experience a hypoglycemia episode at night, you may experience changes in breathing, sweatiness. Your sleep may be restless and you may experience nightmares that jolt you out of sleep.

Conclusion

Hypoglycemia is more common in diabetic people. It is easy to recognize if you know what to look for and if there is a history of diabetes. For non-diabetic people, narrowing it down as hypoglycemia is not always easy since it is not as common in this demographic. You should see your doctor if you experience hypoglycemia but do not have diabetes or if your hypoglycemia does not improve even after taking sugary drinks or glucose. If someone experiencing hypoglycemia around you loses consciousness or suffers seizures, you should seek emergency medical care.
