Resting

Taking a rest is an effective way to aid your body from a food poisoning episode. It is important to get a lot of rest till you feel better. It is also advisable not to eat or drink anything for a few hours after the first bout of symptoms. When you do start eating, start off with something light and gentle, such as crackers. Take time off work, school or whatever you have going on and rest. It is important that you do not push the body too hard or too much during the treatment period.
Following the Brat Diet
The BRAT diet [4] is light on the stomach and is made up of toast, rice, banana and applesauce. You can have any of these when you are experiencing the symptoms. You can have these foods individually or prepare meals around them. Either way, what is important is that you eat right and properly. Clear broths or soups can also be included in this diet.
