Restless leg syndrome

It is not clear why iron deficiency causes restless leg syndrome in some people. Restless leg syndrome is an intense urge to move your legs even when they should be resting. It can result in itchiness or crawling sensations all over the legs. This unpleasant feeling intensifies at night and may interfere with sleep.
Restless leg syndrome may affect people for various reasons not related to iron deficiency. However, people with iron deficiency are more likely to suffer from restless leg syndrome than people without it. Data [7] from the National Institute of Health estimates that about 25% of people who have iron deficiency anemia also experience restless leg syndrome.
