Wash the tattoo softly
The covering can be removed after a few hours. The tattoo then gets washed for the first time.
The first thing to do is to wash your hands with water and soap to prevent the transfer of bacteria to the tattoo. Then softly wash the tattoo with a fragrance-free or hypoallergenic soap [1] and warm water. You can dry up the area with a soft cloth.
You can also put a little quantity of fragrance-free and alcohol-free moisturizer [2] on the tattoo. The covering must be removed at this stage to allow your skin receive air.
The moisturizer on the tattoo comes off and it may look like it is leaking ink or a thick sticky substance. This is a normal occurrence because it is the excess fluid and ink leaving the tattoo.
