Botulinum toxin injections

Often simply called Botox injections, botulinum toxin [6] injections may be prescribed to help combat hyperhidrosis. This injection works by blocking the actions of nerves that cause sweating. This treatment can be painful and it sometimes causes transient muscle weakness in the area that doctors administer it. Doctors often anesthetize or ice the area first.
Botulinum toxin injections are often used to treat excessive underarm sweating, but they can be administered in other areas like the palms. The effect of this treatment can last up to 12 months, but you need several injections to achieve this. You need to repeat this procedure once the effect expires.
