What Are the Causes of Plantar Fasciitis?

High Heeled Shoes

Consistently wearing high heeled shoes can cause the development of plantar fasciitis. The choice to wear high heels may cause the Achilles tendon to tighten, pulling on the heel bone. Most times, there may be a sharp pain when the feet are flattened. Hence, it is advisable to reduce the wearing of high heels.

Structure of the Foot

People with a flat foot, tight calf muscles, and high arches may have plantar fasciitis. Please note that individuals with flat feet have a shallow arch or no arch, which means that both feet may be flat on the ground. This condition may lead to plantar fasciitis due to the structure of the foot. Physical therapy may help treat flat feet, tight calf muscles, and high arches.
