Procedure for ceramic hip replacement

Hip surgery normally takes between one and three hours and is performed in a hospital operating room.
A nurse will take you into a room to prepare for surgery after you check in at the hospital, where you’ll put on a hospital gown.
An IV will then be started in your hand, wrist, or arm by the nurse so that you can receive fluids and drugs throughout the procedure.
An orthopedic surgeon will then take the following actions:
- The region towards the front of your hip should be cleaned and sterilized.
- Put sterile drapes across the space.
- Cut a small hole near your hip joint.
- After the bones in your joint are exposed, move the muscle and other tissue out of the way.
- Take out the hip joint’s ball and any other damaged socket components.
- Connect the socket of the fake ceramic ball to your pelvic bone and attach it to your thigh bone.
- Close the incision
