Transsphenoidal surgery is the preferred treatment [4] modality for adrenocorticotropic hormone-secreting pituitary adenomas. Over the past twenty years, medical institutions in the USA and Europe have reported up to 85% success of the TS in treating hypercortisolism. Patients get into remission as they start to see a gradual improvement in the symptoms. The healing process may take a while, starting from partial remission and progress slowly into complete remission.
In most patients, the recovery time may span up to two to three weeks, but it could be longer.
