There are two effective methods of treatments that are used to treat immune-related nerve damage, they are;
Plasmapheresis
Plasmapheresis is also known as plasma exchange. In Plasmapheresis, plasma is removed from the body since they contain antibodies that have been damaging the nerves. Then there is an operation to remove the immune cells from the body. After that, the remaining red blood cells are returned to the body.
Immunoglobulin therapy (IVIG)
This method of treatment is easier to administer, and it is has been proven very effective. Immunoglobulin therapy involves an intravenous injection. In IVIG therapy, the immunoglobulin is infused into a vein since they are proteins that the immune system makes to attack infecting organisms. They are usually administered every day for five days.
