Classroom Accommodations for ADHD

How Do You Accommodate Students with ADHD Inattentive Symptoms?

Students with ADHD inattentive symptoms are easily distracted. They have a very low attention span, and they can be distracted by anything. How do you accommodate such students? How do you increase their levels of attention? There are things you can do to help students with this condition.

Ensure that you create a teaching area with little or no distractions for the student. This area will help to increase the attention span of the student and help them focus on what you are teaching them. Ensure that this area is filled with other students who are intellectuals and will not provide any form of distraction to the student.

You have to make sure that you are lenient with them. Give them more time to complete assignments and projects. After giving them these assignments, remind them often so that they do not forget about it. See to it that a lot of breaks are given to them and make them engage in other activities they find interesting.
