Treatment of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA)

The main aim of treating JIA is to reduce the intensity of pain and stiffness around the affected area and also help the child live a normal and healthy lifestyle. The treatment for JIA depends mainly on the symptoms, general health, and age of the child. Also, it can be dependent on the severity of the health condition. Some of the treatments include:

- Corticosteroid Medicine – this medicine is used to decrease the level of inflammation and harsh symptoms.
- Biologic Medicines – these are medicines that interfere with the human body’s inflammatory response, and they are taken into consideration when other treatment methods do not seem to work.
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory Medicines – these are medicines used to reduce the level of pain and inflammation in the joints.
