Treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis

If you have been diagnosed with RA you don’t have to fear, your doctor will refer you to a specialist known as a rheumatologist [3], who will discuss your treatment options. The purpose of treatment is to:
- Relieve pain
- Prevent flares and reduce their severity
- Slow down or prevent pain and damage to the joints and organs.
- Minimize any loss of function caused by pain, joint damage, or deformity.
- Reduce inflammation to the joints
Different treatment options include medication, physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and therapy.
