Parent’s Ages, Child’s Sex, and Family History
Another probable cause of Autism spectrum disorder has to do with the ages of the child’s parents and the child’s sex. Some research suggests that there may be a connection between autism spectrum disorder and children with older parents. There’s also the fact that boys have a higher chance of developing autism spectrum disorder compared to girls. Therefore, these factors are also causes of Autism spectrum disorder.
Parents of a child with Autism spectrum disorder have a higher chance of having another child with the condition. Therefore, a child with ASD may be due to the family history with ASD [5]. It is not limited to a sibling too. If a parent or a relative such as an uncle or grandparent, is with Autism Spectrum disorder or has minor communication or social skills problems, or portray certain behaviors peculiar to the disorder, then it might explain a child’s cause of ASD.
