10 Common Remedies for Elbow Pain

Rest Your Elbow

Resting your elbow may seem like a simple treatment, but it can help treat excess inflammation or irritation in the elbow area. You can rest your arm and avoid movement that triggered the inflammation and pain. This does not stop you from doing your daily activities. However, you must avoid movements and motions that could irritate your tendons. You can resume these activities slowly after a few hours or days. Ensure you stop immediately if you start to feel pain.

Compress and Provide Support

Compression helps reduce muscle weakness associated with elbow pain. It involves wrapping a compression bandage around your elbow. Ensure the bandage is tight enough, so you can feel the compression. Note that the bandage should not stop you from moving your fingers properly. The temperature of the skin on your lower arm should be the same as the rest of your arm or the other arm. Remove the bandage immediately if your lower arm starts to get cooler than the other parts of your arm.
