You might need to wear a splint or cast for some weeks. Fractures usually take about 3 to 12 weeks to heal completely.
Avulsion fracture for places where your healthcare provider can’t apply a cast, like your pelvis, a short period of rest followed by crutches may be helpful. Your healthcare provider might give you the go ahead to apply weight after a few weeks and resume sports activities.
Ensure you confirm with your doctor about when you can return to sports and other heavy activities. If you go back too soon, you can reinjure yourself.
