Causes Only in Women
Some causes of the pain in the left belly button only affect women. These include:
– Menstrual cramps: They happen during and before a menstrual period. The pain could range from mild to serious. Visit your doctor when the discomfort interferes with your daily life.
– Endometriosis: This condition causes the tissue lining the inside of the uterus to grow outside of your uterus. This would result in infertility and abdominal pain.
– Ovarian cyst: This is a fluid-filled sac on the surface or inside an ovary. In most cases, it is a part of the normal menstrual cycle in women. When a cyst breaks open, it would cause internal bleeding or serious pain.
– Ovarian torsion: This condition causes a painful twisting of your ovary, which subsequently cuts off the supply of blood. [3]
