Symptoms
Emphysema and lung cancer have similar symptoms. Some of them include:
- Coughing
- Chest pain or tightness
- Shortness of breath [1]
- Wheezing
- Increased mucus production
These symptoms are mostly seen in people who have lung cancer. Symptoms commonly seen in people with severe emphysema or during COPD episodes include:
- Tumor formation [2]
- Weakness and fatigue [3]
- Weight loss [4]
- Loss of appetite [5]
- Back pain
- Coughing up blood (hemoptysis)
