Convulsions & Diarrhea

This is a rare symptom of malaria that usually occurs when the disease has progressed to a severe state, causing complications [8]. This condition is known as cerebral malaria and includes many other health complications. It is the most severe form of the disease and is caused by Plasmodium falciparum.
It is a common case among pediatrics in sub-Saharan Africa and has a high mortality rate. Survivors of this condition are often left with brain injuries that affect them for the rest of their lives.
Frequent stooling is another symptom [9] of the plasmodium infection, and the feces is usually loose or watery. Due to the shortage of oxygen in the blood, free radicals can invade the digestive and gastrointestinal system, injuring vital organs. The liver, pancreas, and intestine are the common targets of the free radicals, which leads to the malfunctioning of the body system, including diarrhea.
