Nausea & Vomiting

Many patients have likened the feeling of malaria to the flu. Nausea [7] and vomiting are common symptoms of this disease and are mostly caused by irritation to foods and drugs. Infected persons suffering from malaria usually have low or no appetite and this makes it difficult to keep food down. However, because the immune system is weak, the body needs food and drugs to fight the parasite. The smell or taste of food may be repulsive to the patient, causing nausea and may lead to vomiting.
