Diagnosis for a movable lump in the neck
Considering the different possible causes, you would need a proper diagnosis if you have a movable lump in the neck. If you experience a swollen lymph node as a result of an illness you have, they should return to normal size as you recover. Generally, a lump that goes away after a maximum of two weeks is not a serious problem.
If it extends two weeks, it is best that you visit your doctor for a check-up. Ensure to discuss all other symptoms you might be experiencing, even if you don’t think they are related.
Your doctor will conduct a physical examination which will include feeling the lymph nodes under the throat, all around the neck, and down to the collarbone. He would also inspect your ears, mouth, and throat. Your symptoms and the physical examination will determine the next step.
