Endometriosis
Endometrial cells, which mimic the lining of the uterus, proliferate outside the uterus and cause endometriosis [5]. Every month when you receive your period, these cells have the potential to enlarge and bleed, which can lead to pain and other problems.
The majority of endometriosis cases occur in women in their 30s and 40s.
The most prevalent symptom is pain, which includes:
- severe cramping during menstruation
- lower back pain
- pelvic pain
- discomfort during intercourse
- painful bowel movements
- painful urination during menstruation
Additional signs and symptoms consist of:
- heavy periods
- Bleeding between periods
- digestive problems such diarrhea [6]
- bloating
- infertility [7]
