Trigeminal Neuralgia

This is when the trigeminal nerve at the base of the brain gets affected, either by a push from the blood vessels or a tumor, and makes it to misfire. Also, a case of multiple sclerosis could damage the nerve’s protective covering i.e. the myelin sheath. All this can cause one to feel a burning or shock-like facial pain, which can appear to be extremely painful. A typical trigeminal neuralgia attack could last for up to two minutes, affecting the lower face and sometimes the nose and eye. If it happens repeatedly it could result in the treatment option of surgery.
