Scoliosis Treatment Options for Kids and Adults

What are the signs and symptoms of scoliosis?

The major symptom in all types of scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine. This usually occurs when the shoulder, waist, hip, and other body parts on one side appear higher than on the other side. Adults with scoliosis usually experience back pain, but adolescents and children with the condition do not. Studies show that when a child with the condition develops back pain, it usually means that they have some other condition.

Scoliosis can be diagnosed if a sideway curvature in the skin exceeds 10 degrees. In most cases, the curvature in adults usually gets larger than 30 degrees before they seek medical attention.
