Shallow, Rapid Breathing

An adult’s regular breathing rate is about 12 to 20 breaths per minute [3]. A normal rate for a baby is up to 44breaths in a minute. A situation where a person is taking rapid and shallow breaths is also called tachypnea. This is when an individual breathes per minute is more than normal. In a case where you experience breathing that is more than what is usual, it may a sign of heat exhaustion. It may be accompanied by lightheadedness, chest caving in with each breath [4], chest pain and worsening rapid breathing.
