Surgery for Stress Fractures

For the most part, stress fractures can be treated without surgery. If your symptoms are severe or the fracture isn’t healing as it should, your doctor may recommend surgery. If the fracture is in a bone where further issues are more likely to occur, such as your hip joint, you may require surgery.
An internal fixing will be carried out by a surgeon. To stabilize your bone during the healing process, they may insert metal plates, screws, or pins. What to anticipate and how long recovery will take will be discussed with you by your surgeon and physician.
