Stretches

Stretches that are useful for one person may not be for another because SPD has a variable impact on everyone.

When pregnant, it is advisable to consult a doctor about which stretches are safe.

The pelvic tilt is one stretch that might be helpful for alleviating pain. Following these steps will enable people to undertake this exercise:

  1. Lay on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the ground.
  2. For the back to flatten and the pelvis to tilt, contract the gluteal muscles and pull your stomach in.
  3. Hold the pose for 5–10 seconds before relaxing.

If the exercise helps alleviate pain, you can perform 10–20 repetitions.
