Heat the Region

If part of the symptoms you are experiencing is inflammation and swelling in the region, heating it can help. Once the swelling has subsided, use a heating pad 2-3 days following the injury. Heat can aid to promote healing because it stimulates blood flow to the area where it is applied. Apply a heating pad to your groin after wrapping it in a cloth or paper towel. After placing it for 10 to 20 minutes, remove it for one to two hours.
- When your injury is still tender or swollen, avoid using a heating pad because it could exacerbate the swelling.
- When you are sleeping, never use a heating pad. Your skin could become hot or even burnt as a result of this.
If you do not have a heating pad, you can make one using an empty plastic bottle. Fill a plastic water bottle with hot tap water, screw the cap on tightly, and wrap it in a cloth or paper towel.
