Treatment for Toxoplasmosis

Anti-parasitic medications and antibiotics are used to treat toxoplasmosis. These prevent T. gondii from proliferating and multiplying throughout your body.
During toxoplasmosis treatment, folinic acid is administered to lessen the negative effects of the anti-parasitic drugs.
People who do not have a weakened immune system and do not exhibit any symptoms of toxoplasmosis are typically not treated. Only when parasites are active can toxoplasmosis be effectively treated. The cysts that the parasites leave in your body cannot be removed by it.
