Preventing piriformis syndrome

Take into account some of the following measures to prevent piriformis syndrome, especially recurrent (repeat) episodes:
- Regular exercise will keep your muscles strong.
- Maintain proper posture at all times, but especially when sitting, driving, or standing.
- Stretch after physical activities after warming up.
- By stooping down and bending your knees, you can lift objects safely. Just remember to maintain you’re back straight. When lifting, keep the things close to your body and avoid twisting.
- Instead of having to sit for an extended period of time, get up and move around to stretch or stand.
