Poststroke Spasticity Management – 8 Exercises to Know

Knee Extensions

  • Sit up straight in a chair bending your knees and feet on the floors.
  • Stretch your left foot up and forward, almost as if you were kicking a ball in front of you.
  • Even though you are working toward a straight leg, keep your knee soft and don’t lock the joint.
  • Gently move your foot back to the floor.
  • Do it on the other side 4 or 5 times.

Conclusion

Spasticity caused by stroke can lead to muscle tightness, pain and spasm. It affects the ability to perform daily tasks. Exercises are very vital in getting back to your normal self.
